A securities fraud class action lawsuit has been filed against Gildan Activewear Inc. (“Gildan” or the “Company”) (NYSE: GIL) on behalf of shareholders who purchased or otherwise acquired the Company’s securities between February 19, 2025 and June 15, 2026, inclusive (the “Class Period”). Gildan is a manufacturer of branded basic apparel, including activewear, underwear, and hosiery, and completed its acquisition of HanesBrands Inc.'s global activewear and branded apparel business on December 1, 2025.

The complaint alleges that, throughout the Class Period, defendants made materially false and misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that Gildan engaged in channel stuffing — pushing excess product onto distributors and large customers, in some cases on extended payment terms, to pull future sales forward and create the appearance of revenue growth; that, as a result, the Company's reported net sales and accounts receivable were artificially inflated; that Gildan's statements regarding the effectiveness of its internal control over financial reporting (in its February 19, 2025 annual report) and its disclosure controls and procedures (in its February 26, 2026 annual report) were false; and that the Company failed to disclose issues connected to the integration of the HanesBrands acquisition.

On June 16, 2026, Jehoshaphat Research, an investigative research firm, published a report disclosing a short position in Gildan and alleging that the Company had been "stuffing the channel for several years, persistently and increasingly," pulling forward an estimated $500 million of revenue from future quarters into 2026 and overstating its revenue and growth for several years. On this news, Gildan's stock fell $11.63 per share, or 18.7%, to close at $50.34 on June 16, 2026.
